Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals come with a comprehensive Rental Agreement that will be available at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, though specific age restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type, with potential extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence relevant to the vehicle category is required, maintained for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of current residence must be submitted, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Stretford location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Stretford, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, taking into account standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur charges. The vehicle must also be returned with the same amount of fuel as at collection; otherwise, refueling fees will apply. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please contact us as soon as possible, as late returns may result in additional charges. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that occur during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts will be outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to decrease your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance covers it. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. Please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for detailed information. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rented Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any actions that may pose a risk. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used as intended, and adherence to passenger and weight limits is required. Driving outside designated geographical boundaries without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Stretford does not accept responsibility for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Laws
The laws of England and Wales govern these Terms. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in England and Wales.
Updates to Agreement
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
