Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur extra charges. A valid driving licence relevant to the vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, alongside any additional criteria detailed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by phone, or directly at our Stretford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed to document the state of the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur charges. Additionally, please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You are liable for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or other charges accrued during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, except when covered by supplementary insurance. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden, as is exceeding weight or passenger limits. Operating outside designated geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Stretford will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death, personal injury due to negligence, or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
